
Rutilaria amplectans (Grove & Sturt) Ross (1887)
Comment: A well-preserved doublet, showing two sibling valves still connected using periplekta. The periplekton in this species has an unusually long stalk, not seen in most other species of Rutilaria.
Locality: Oamaru, New Zealand, The Natural History Museum slide BM 46592 (from the original Grove & Sturt study), material presumably from Cormack's Siding (Eocene-Oligocene Transition).
