Cortinocornus rossicus (Pantocsek) Gleser (1984)
Comment: A medium-sized frustule composed of dissimilar vaves: the upper valve has very low polar elevations, in contrast to the lower valve. The polar elevations are terminated in ball-type structures. These would fit into socket-type terminations on the neighboring sibling valves.
Locality: Eidsbotn Fjord, Devon Island, Nunavut, Canada, sample: EF0103 (Late Cretaceous).
Photographed using: Zeiss Axio.A1, Plan-APOCHROMAT 100×/1.4 Oil DIC + Zeiss AxioCam ICc 5. Stacked using Helicon Focus.
