Asterolampra insignis Schmidt (1888)
Comment: Despite a few fractures, this valve is nearly intact, with even the most delicate parts preserved (note the finely perforated cribra preserved on the large central openings).
Locality: Deep Sea Drilling Project Hole 280A (south of South Tasman Rise, southwest Pacific), sample: 29-280A-6-3, 116-117 cm (Eocene-Oligocene Transition).
