
Pyrgupyxis eocena Hendey (1969)
Comment: A heterovalvar frustule: the upper valve bears a narrow, strongly elongate process, while the valve face of the lower valve is nearly flat.
Locality: Deep Sea Drilling Project Hole 280A (south of South Tasman Rise, southwest Pacific), sample: 29-280A-2-2, 20-21 cm (Eocene-Oligocene Transition).
