
Pyrgupyxis gracilis (Tempère & Forti) Hendey (1969)
Comment: This is an unusually variable species. In the original report on Leg 29 Paleogene diatoms by Hajós (1977), similar morphologies are identified as Pyrgupyxis gracilis var. saratoviana.
Locality: Deep Sea Drilling Project Hole 280A (south of South Tasman Rise, southwest Pacific), sample: 29-280A-6-3, 116-117 cm (Eocene-Oligocene Transition).
