Rutilaria amplectans (Grove & Sturt) Ross (1887)
Comment: A well-preserved doublet, showing two sibling valves still connected using periplekta. The periplekton in this species has an unusually long stalk, not seen in most other species of Rutilaria.

Oamaru, New Zealand, The Natural History Museum slide BM 46592 (from the original Grove & Sturt study), material presumably from Cormack's Siding (Eocene-Oligocene Transition).
